In the Cannes Film Festival Aishwarya Rai was present with husband Abhishek Bachchan. The Cannes Film Festival has a big place in Aishwarya Rai's heart.

Aishwarya Rais' first time at Cannes was to promote the lavish love story "Devdas" in 2002. The "Bride & Prejudice" star attended last year's French Riviera festival soon after her wedding to fellow film star Abhishek Bachchan.

"Last time, I got married just a month before so it was very special to be back here," she told Associated Press Television News at Cannes. "It was literally like a reception welcome."

Aishwarya Rai, attended the Cannes Film Festival to promote Indian film industry even though Bollywood has no entries in this year's competition. She is almost a regular at Cannes Film Festival now but this time round Aishwarya Rai greeted the press for the first time as a Bachchan. She was wearing a Roberto Cavalli gown and attending with Andie McDowell and Kerry Washington at Screening of the film 'The Wind that Shakes the Barley'.
